Breaking Boundaries in Procurement!

Insights from the recent Conference on "National Public Procurement Strategy in the Czech Republic and New Challenges of Public Purchasing", held in Prague!

At the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization and the Minister for Regional Development, Ivan Bartoš, our Managing Director Martin Ledolter took part in the conference on "National Public Procurement Strategy in the Czech Republic and New Challenges of Public Purchasing". Based on a long-standing partnership and cooperation with the Czech Ministry and Czech public procurement officials, the invitation was extended to present the successful Austrian model of centralized procurement, namely Bundesbeschaffung GmbH.

At the conference, the Ministry of Regional Development presented the National Strategy for Public Procurement in the Czech Republic for the period 2024 to 2028, which emphasizes the strategic dimension of public procurement.

Mr. Ledolter provided valuable insights ranging from BBG's current challenges as a public contracting authority to an overview of the key values and benefits of setting up a central procurement organization in the public procurement landscape.

Regarding central procurement, he explained the use of purchasing power to achieve broader societal goals in terms of sustainability and environmental challenges as well as social issues. In this context, he referred to the BBG's nationwide central service points and competence centers: Public Procurement Promoting Innovation and the Platform for the Austrian Action Plan for Sustainable Public Procurement.

Finally, he also gave a brief insight into the BBG Corporation Strategy 2030+, which outlines the BBG's key strategic directions and objectives.

We wish our dear Czech colleagues and friends every success in implementing the new strategy and will be happy to continue supporting and working with them.
